DrugHub can only be accessed through the Tor network. This ensures your anonymity and protects your identity when browsing the marketplace. Never attempt to access .onion links through regular browsers or VPN services.
Never use VPN with Tor Browser. VPNs compromise Tor's anonymity by creating a single point of failure. The Tor network itself provides sufficient anonymity when used correctly.
Verify the onion URL. Always double-check you're accessing the correct .onion address. Bookmark it in Tor Browser after first successful access.
DrugHub enforces PGP encryption for all communications and authentication. You cannot use the marketplace without setting up PGP. This is mandatory for your security and is not optional.
Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) is an encryption program that provides cryptographic privacy and authentication. DrugHub uses PGP for two purposes:
| Operating System | Recommended Software | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Gpg4win | Includes Kleopatra GUI |
| macOS | GPG Suite | Easy to use, well maintained |
| Linux | GnuPG (pre-installed) | Command line or use Seahorse GUI |
| Tails OS | Built-in GnuPG | Recommended for maximum security |
| Android | OpenKeychain | Best mobile PGP app |
Private Key = Your Identity: Your PGP private key is your DrugHub account. Losing it means losing access permanently. There is no password recovery.
Never Share Private Keys: Only your public key should be shared. Private keys must remain secret and encrypted with a strong passphrase.
Update PGP Software: DrugHub requires modern PGP that supports EC (Elliptic Curve) keys. Outdated software like gpg4usb will not work.
Tails OS (Highest Security): A Linux distribution designed for anonymity. Runs from USB, leaves no traces on computer. All connections routed through Tor. Highly recommended for serious users.
Whonix (High Security): Virtual machine setup that isolates all traffic through Tor. More complex but very secure. Can be run on Windows, macOS, or Linux host.
Qubes OS (Advanced): Security-focused operating system using compartmentalization. Steep learning curve but excellent for separating activities.
Regular OS with Tor (Basic): Minimum security level. Use Tor Browser on your regular operating system. Better than nothing but not recommended for high-risk activities.
Solution: DrugHub main mirrors are sometimes under DDoS attack. Try using "New Tor Circuit" (click onion icon in Tor Browser, select "New Circuit for this Site"). The platform uses proof-of-work challenges that require a decent CPU. If connection is slow, wait 30-60 seconds for the PoW puzzle to solve.
Solution: Update your PGP software to support EC (Elliptic Curve) keys. DrugHub staff uses modern cryptography. Outdated tools like gpg4usb are not compatible.
Solution: Private mirrors are linked to your account and don't work from other accounts. Never share your private mirrors. If both your private mirrors fail, contact support from another account.
Solution: DrugHub automatically purges accounts after 6 months of inactivity for security. You can re-register with the same PGP key and username if desired.
