Setting Up a Monero Wallet

⚠️ Wallet Security Requirements

Self-Custodial Only: Use wallets where you control private keys. Never use exchange wallets (Binance, Kraken, etc.) for marketplace transactions.

Avoid: Online wallets with KYC requirements, closed-source wallets, anything that doesn't give you full control of private keys.

Installing Feather Wallet (Recommended)

1 Download Feather Wallet
Visit featherwallet.org and download for your operating system. Feather is lightweight, fast, and perfect for marketplace use.

2 Install and Create New Wallet
Run installer and launch Feather. Select "Create new wallet" and choose a strong password. This wallet is stored locally on your device.

3 Write Down Seed Phrase
Feather will display 25-word seed phrase. Write this down on paper and store securely. Never save digitally. This seed restores your wallet if you lose access.

4 Get Your Receiving Address
Once wallet opens, go to "Receive" tab to see your Monero address. This is where you'll receive XMR for marketplace payments.

How to Buy Monero

You need XMR to purchase from DrugHub. There are several methods to acquire Monero, each with different privacy/convenience tradeoffs.

Method 1: Peer-to-Peer (Highest Privacy)

LocalMonero / AgoraDesk: Buy XMR directly from other people using various payment methods (cash, bank transfer, gift cards, etc.). No KYC required. Most private option.

⚠️ Critical: Never Use Exchange Wallets

Always withdraw XMR from exchanges to your personal wallet. DrugHub and all markets can ban you for using exchange wallets. Exchanges can freeze funds, require source of funds, or report transactions. You must control your private keys.

Making Payments on DrugHub

DrugHub uses an invoice-based payment system. You never deposit funds to the marketplace. Instead, you pay directly per order.

Payment Process

1 Browse and Add to Cart
Browse DrugHub without logging in. Add items to shopping cart. You can place multiple orders and pay once.

2 Checkout and Generate Invoice
Go to checkout. DrugHub generates unique payment invoice with specific XMR amount and unique receiving address.

3 Send Payment from Your Wallet
Open your Feather/Cake/other wallet. Send exact XMR amount to the address provided. Copy address carefully - XMR transactions are irreversible.

4 Wait for Confirmation
Monero transactions take 20-30 minutes to confirm (10 blocks). Your order will show as "Pending" until payment confirms. Once confirmed, vendor will process your order.

⚠️ Underpayments and Late Payments

If XMR price rises between invoice generation and payment, you may underpay. Underpayments go to your market wallet for later use. If you wait too long to pay, you may need to pay difference. Pay invoices within 1-2 hours for best results.
